The role of leadership is changing as we flatten organizations and empower employees to take more and more responsibility. The early results from these changes point strongly to the number one blockage to success - current management. As we have started to give more responsibility to employees, managers must change radically but to what?

Executives and managers are faced with more moral and ethical dilemmas than ever before. How do we lead from these dilemmas rather than just lose sleep over them?

We know it doesn’t look like a traditional control function - even if that is what has made us successful in the past.

Managers are threatened by the people below them taking over what they have done in the past. When the direction is unclear as to how to change, people hang onto what they have currently. This frustrates employees below them and prevents empowerment from happening.
